The world of Sanctuary is teeming with a wide variety of materials that can be used in crafting, and players can gather these materials to improve their gear. In Diablo 4, one of these categories of crafting materials is Ores, which players are required to use in order to upgrade or craft new gear at the Blacksmith and Jeweler.
This guide explains everything we know so far about Ores in Diablo 4, including the locations in the world of Sanctuary where you can find them, how you can get more quickly, some flavorful lore descriptions, and more.
The Complete List of Ore Materials and Their Locations in Diablo 4
The first and most important thing to keep in mind is that in Diablo 4, you can obtain certain types of ores and other crafting materials by dismantling old equipment. When you dismantle any weapon at the Blacksmith, for instance, you will receive one to two Iron Chunks as a reward.
It is also possible to acquire certain types of ore materials in the open world, throughout the five primary regions of Sanctuary, in dungeons (possibly), and even in Strongholds. These can all be found in Sanctuary. For the most part, in order for players to acquire the necessary materials for crafting, they will need to interact with a Vein of the appropriate Ore type.
Please note that as of the time this article was written, it is unknown whether there are additional types of plants or crafting materials to be discovered. The information in the table below comes from WoWHead. As soon as we have access to additional information, the list will be revised and updated.
Check out the table below for a rundown on the lore behind the various types of Ore that can be used in crafting in Diablo 4, as well as the locations where you can find Veins.
Iron Chunk is a frequent material used in crafting.
A common, dark ore that, despite its weight, produces a pure, useful metal that is utilized by artisans all over Sanctuary. The ore is described as having a murky appearance.
Get them by dismantling weapons of any quality or by looting Veins, which can be found in almost every part of Sanctuary.
Ore of Silver, a Material Required for Crafting Magic.
Make or improve your own jewelry and weapons using this.
In all of Sanctuary, silver is highly regarded by skilled craftspeople due to the fact that it is both aesthetically pleasing and effective in warding off hostile monsters.
(Extremely Rare) Scattered Prism (Crafting Material)
Use: Add sockets to gear.
These prisms are often jealously guarded because of their rarity and the fact that their previous owners hid them away for safekeeping.
As far as we are aware, these are all of the Ore crafting materials that are available in Diablo 4 and how you can obtain them. This may change as we get closer to the release date, or Blizzard may decide to add additional content to the game at a later date.
Does It Make a Difference Which Holy Cedar Tablet You Choose in Diablo 4?
As part of the Rite of Passage quest, you will have to perform a ritual and sacrifice your sins in order to enter Kyovashad for the first time in Diablo 4. In order to do so, you will need to have reached Kyovashad for the first time. You will be able to inscribe a Holy Cedar Tablet with a sin of your choosing if you interact with the shrine that is located next to the gatehouse. In Diablo 4, which of the sins listed on the Holy Cedar Tablet should you pick, and does it even make a difference?
When you get close to the Kyovashad gatehouse, a number of guards will block your path and insist that you take part in a cleansing ritual before you are allowed to enter the city. In order to accomplish this, you will need to interact with a shrine that is located close to the gatehouse, carve a sin into a piece of wood, and then throw the piece of wood into the fire. You will have the opportunity to write five sins on a Holy Cedar Tablet when you visit the shrine. These sins are as follows:
Fear should be carved into the wood.
Carve the word "Anger" into the wood.
Carve the word "Pride" into the wood.
Gluttony should be carved into the wood.
Put nothing but scribbles into the wood as an inscription.
Which Sin Should You Choose to Write on the Holy Cedar Tablet?
The long and short of it is that whichever path you choose at this point will not have any bearing on the rest of your adventure. When you turn in the Holy Cedar Tablet to the guard, you will receive the same reward upon doing so: a sizeable amount of experience points, some cash, and access to Kyovashad. This is true regardless of which sin you choose to write on the tablet. Take your pick; it doesn't make a difference which sin you commit.
