When it comes to the safe and secure transportation of loads and cargo, ratchet straps are the unsung heroes. It's easy to underestimate their significance until you find yourself in a situation where you suddenly don't have any available to secure your cargo. The cargo and transportation industry favors the straightforward yet dependable design that these products have. However, these products are not limited to being used only by professionals. Ratchet Straps can also be used in the home for moving furniture, securing camping equipment, securing surfboards, and a wide variety of other kinds of cargo. The instructions for performing a Ratchet Strap up are outlined in the following step-by-step guide. Always keep in mind that practice makes perfect! Close the ratchet handle so that you have easy access to the axle assembly. Thread the webbing from under the ratchet, through the slot in the axle, and then back out the way it entered. Finally, secure the hooks that are attached to each end of your ratchet into place (for example, on your truck, car, or another vehicle). Remove the slack between the two hooks by pulling the free hanging end of the webbing. Tighten the slack even further by pumping the ratchet handle

At this point, the strap should be attached in two (2) different places

1.  It is important that the webbing is wrapped around the ratchet's axle

2.  Your ratchet straps should now have your load safely contained and secured in place

3.  HOW TO LET GO OF A RATCHET STRAP In order to let go of the ratchet strap, pull the ratchet handle back until it is in the open position

4.  This will relieve the tension that is being applied to the strap, and it should become pliable enough to be removed from the axle slot of the ratchet

5.  If the stability of your load depends on the straps, you need to make sure that you have adequate plans in place for how to unload the cargo without causing it to fall, get damaged, or hurt anyone – safety should always come first

6.  Try holding onto the free hanging end of the webbing so that the ratchet strap does not quickly unthread itself from the ratchet mechanism

7.  This will allow you to slowly release a ratchet strap

8.  In the event that this is not done, the item may suffer from damage such as mildew, brittleness, discoloration, loss of strength, and breakage

It is important to inspect the item both before and after use for any signs of damage. Replace if necessary.  At Load Restraint Systems, our Ratchet Straps and Assemblies are manufactured to the highest industry standards and comply with the AS/NZS 4380:2001 Standards as required.
