With the two Manchester teams starting the season in sensational form, playing some of the most attractive football the Premier League has seen, it has led to a lot of football fans questioning Chelseas start to the season. Ive always believed there is not nece sarily a right or wrong way to play football, its a results game and Chelsea are currently third in the league, having only dropped two points. But there is no hiding it has seemed a bit of a struggle for Chelsea and they have not played the style of football that the blues faithful would have Logan Morrison Jersey wanted.This time last year Chelsea set the league alight, starting the season in exhilarating form. The West Londoners started the season scoring 12 goals in two games, keeping two cleans sheets. Then they went on to beat Stoke 2-0 and followed that with the batterings of West Ham and Blackpool, scoring 7 in two games. The football was excellent to say the least. The whole squad was playing with hunger, pa sion and quality. The stand out players were Didier Drogba, Malouda and Kalou. Drogba was at the heart of everything Chelsea produced. After scoring a Hat trick in the 6-0 thrashing of West Brom he went on to provide a sists and his link up play was extraordinary. The unselfish football from Drogba allowed Malouda to produce his best patch of form for the blues. The Frenchman scored six goals in Chelseas first five games and looked extremely sharp; he was thriving of the fantastic play from Frank Lampard, Drogba and Kalou. Another player to start the Willians Astudillo Jersey season in great form was Kalou. Ancelloti showed faith in Kalou and gave him lots of game time in the first five fixture and he repaid the faith with four goals. Roman Abramovich had always wanted attractive football at Chelsea and wanted to be entertained, and he certainly was. This season is completely opposite to last season and Chelsea have walked out of the blocks as oppose to running out of them. Chelsea started with a 0-0 draw at Stoke City. Whilst Stoke are always a battling team, the Blues still disappointed and struggled to play good attacking football. The next game was even more disappointing for the West Londoners as they struggled at home to West Brom and just about managed to get a victory. The next home match, against newly promoted Norwich, was the ideal chance for Chelsea to find that spark and send out a warning to their Manchester rivals. After a very competitive match Chelsea came out with a rather flattering 3-1 victory. This led to some corners of the media to question Chelseas start, team selection and style of play.The team selection is Villa- Boass most blatant problem. I do believe Chelsea will be back to their scintillating best in a matter of games, but before they are back to that standard, the new manager has to addre s the selection problems. On paper a strike force of Torres, Drogba and Anelka should be giving the manager a headache for positive reasons. But in AVBs case the problems are that none of the players are in good form. Fernando Torres has shown hints of his old self but has yet to prove his worth to Villa- Boas. Drogba is a completely different player to last season, and has now suffered a terrible head injury so Zach Duke Jersey will take longer to get back to his best. Anelka may have scored one goal but has yet to show outstanding form that keeps the other strikers out of the side. AVB has to play one of them but which one is a very hard decision.It is by no means all doom and gloom for the Blues as there have been two players that have shown they may be able to entertain the Chelsea faithful. The win against Sunderland at the Stadium of light saw Daniel Sturridge and Juan Mata show the fans that attractive football will be on its way, very shortly. Daniel Sturridge has vowed to stay at Chelsea and battle for a place. Battle may be an exaggeration by the talented forward as it looks as though he hasnt got an opponent to fight with for his position. He showed the Premier League what he can do whilst on loan at Bolton. He was Fernando Rodney Jersey fantastic during his loan spell and scored 8 goals in 12 appearances. AVB was clearly impre sed and kept him in the Chelsea squad this season. Sturridge mi sed the first three games of the season due to suspension, after getting red carded in his last game for Bolton. However after his suspension had finished he was drafted straight into the starting 11 against Sunderland. He played very well in the match, providing Chelsea with pace and direction that had been mi sing in the first three games. He also scored Chelseas second with a tremendous back heel. Entertainment? Just watch the goal again.Whilst Daniel Sturridge can provide Chelsea with, pace, power, arrogance and most importantly goals, it is new signing Juan Mata that can make the real difference for the Blues and give the team that bit of magic. He is very much in keeping with the current style of football that Spain play. He is quick, has an eye for goal, but more than anything has fantastic awarene s and pa sing ability.
